Dear Friends and Neighbors—

While last Tuesday’s election results were not what we had hoped for… it was an incredible opportunity to pursue a seat on the Torrance City Council to serve my community. I could not have done it without you!

Over the last 10-months, our campaign achieved many milestones together, including:

5,000 homes canvassed.

3,000 personalized notecards sent to District 5 voters.

1,500 households receiving a personal visit from the candidate.

252 signs and banners distributed.

250 individual donors, raising over $55,000.

I am so grateful for each one of you who donated, volunteered, advised, or encouraged me along the way! It was an incredible journey and wonderful to meet new friends and re-connect with old ones throughout Torrance and the South Bay. I am also thankful to those of you who supported me who lived in other parts of the country-- who worked or served with me in Washington, DC-- and knew the values and integrity I would bring to the City Council.

In closing, I have always loved this quote by our 26th President Theodore Roosevelt:

It is not the critic who counts: not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself in a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.
